CEO, Bleacher Report

“Crosslink is the type of investor you want on board. They were quick in their decision-making progress, they understood our business from day one, and worked to add value throughout the business. It’s been a pleasure working with them and I strongly recommend them to other entrepreneurs.”

Investment Background

Bleacher Report is a sports-focused media company that leverages next-generation technologies in digital publishing to create an unprecedented depth and breadth of content across all screens. Bleacher Report was founded by a young and talented team of sports enthusiasts and led by CEO Brian Grey who previously ran Yahoo! Sports and Fox Sports Interactive. Crosslink Capital’s Eric Chin led the company’s first intuitional investment in 2010 and supported the company’s growth from 15M to 30M monthly unique visitors in under 20 months. Bleacher Report selected Crosslink Capital due its unique and differentiated investment style, entrepreneur friendly culture, and deep domain expertise. Crosslink Capital worked with Bleacher Report to recruit a world class management team, secure additional capital, and build out a board of industry experts. In August of 2012 Turner Broadcasting, a division of Time Warner, acquired Bleacher Report to become the cornerstone of Turner’s online sports strategy. At time of acquisition, Bleacher Report had become the fourth largest online sports media property trailing only Yahoo!, ESPN, and Fox.
